Westermo celebrates at Europe’s largest automation technology event

Westermo enjoyed three highly successful days - including a special anniversary celebration - at SPS IPC Drives 2015, which was held in Nuremberg, Germany, on November 24-26. The exhibition, which is the largest automation technology event in Europe, gave Westermo the chance to showcase some of the company’s latest innovative industrial networking products and solutions to a record number of visitors.

Under the motto ‘Creating the world’s best industrial networks’, Westermo demonstrated its latest robust data communications solutions and gave visitors help and advice on how to implement secure, reliable and easy to manage industrial networks for critical applications.

Westermo unveiled several new Layer-2 Ethernet devices, including Gigabit-enabled industrial Ethernet switches, Ethernet media convertors and high-end Layer 2 switches. Also on show was a new Layer 3 Ethernet extender, plus the very latest version of Westermo’s intelligent network configuration tool WeConfig.

Helping to show the simplicity and resilience of Westermo products, the booth contained a number of live running networks. These highlighted how easy they are to configure, manage and control.

With Westermo celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, the company took the opportunity to host a special VIP gathering during the event’s first evening. This was attended by some of the company’s most important customers and members of the press from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

“Our attendance at SPS IPC Drives provided us with a fantastic audience to show how our networking solutions meet the toughest of data communications applications,” said Anders Felling, Managing Director of Westermo Germany. “The event was very successful and we were pleased to be able to share our 40th anniversary celebrations with so many customers and members of the press.”
