Westermo seeks 50 new employees as part of global development programme

As part of a major development programme Westermo is beginning the search for 50 new employees to help drive the company forward in the global market. Westermo is investing an additional 175 MSEK (c. €19 million) in its business over the next three years, adding new personnel across all areas of the organisation. Westermo, which has subsidiaries in Sweden, the UK, Germany, France, Singapore, North America and China, and sales partners in a further 35 countries, is aiming to strengthen its global competitiveness.

The company prides itself on innovation, professionalism and having a strong corporate culture, which is built on the motivation and dedication of its employees. With this in mind the company has a clear vision of the kind of person it wants to recruit.

“In terms of recruitment, finding people with the right skills is vital,” said Anne-Li Hallblad, HR Manager at Westermo. “But having the right attitude and commitment is even more important. At Westermo we therefore value personality very highly.”

“Westermo has a corporate culture that encourages innovation from its employees”, explained Hallblad. “We want new employees to become part of this culture, so we place a lot of emphasis on our employee induction.”

“As an organisation, Westermo is very open to new ideas and it looks for its employees to be innovative and creative. As a result, we are very committed to our work, which contributes to the success of the company” added Hallblad.

Westermo increases the number of Certified Engineers in the US

Supporting the growing interest in Westermo products and solutions for critical data communications applications, Westermo is now providing Certified Engineering training in the North America. Three-day technical courses are helping sales and support engineers, system integrators and end users to increase their level of expertise and understanding of Westermo solutions and the requirements for implementing reliable industrial networks.

Westermo and its partner Gross Automation work closely together to provide industrial networking solutions for critical applications in a broad range of industries across the United States and Canada. Helping Gross Automation engineers to enhance their levels of expertise, Westermo US held its first Certified Engineer training course in May at Gross Automation’s brand new Customer Experience Center in Wisconsin.

The course was run by instructor Mikael Puman, who travelled from Sweden to offer participants the benefit of his extensive knowledge of Westermo’s WeOS operating software and experience in implementing industrial networks. Using hands on training with the latest Westermo equipment, the Westermo Certified Engineer course aims to provide data communication engineers with a greater understanding of the Westermo product range, the WeOS operating system, and data communication solutions.

“The certified training courses are an excellent way of improving the skillset of our sales engineers. Mikael is a great instructor. He not only provided our team with a huge amount of useful technical information, but also reconfirmed our confidence in the products and support offered by Westermo.” – Bob Gross, President and CEO of Gross Automation.

As a result of the recent training course, eight additional engineers from Gross Automation have become Westermo Certified Engineers.
