He continues “This was a very important event to show Westermo´s presence in South East Asia”.
Westermo and Easy World Technology jointly participated in this year's Middle East Rail exhibition which took place on March 17th-18th in Dubai, The United Arab Emirates. Middle East Rail 2015 attracted 6,000 visitors (up from 4,000 visitors in 2013) and hosted over 200 exhibitors (up from 120 exhibitors in 2013).The event, the largest of its kind in the region, attracted visitors from all over the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and has become a focal point for networking within the rail sector and a showcase for new technology. Westermo's on-board train and trackside solutions, including the new RFIR, where on show during the 2 day event. The stand, which covered 12 sqm, was well visited by representatives from a great number of companies such as Arabian Railway Company (Saudi Arabia), Etihad Rail (United Arab Emirates), Thales, Ansaldo STS, Bombardier, Siemens, Teleste, CAF and Talgo, to name a few. Westermo was the only IDC supplier with a stand at the exhibition and this of course compounded the effect of brand recognition.
The growing interest in railway projects and related activities in the Middle East is in line with the recent launch of new railway projects throughout the region . The MENA region and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)* in particular is experiencing a large volume of new railway projects and investments. From Saudi Arabia and The United Arab Emirates' launch of nationwide railway lines to Oman's announcement of cross border railway investment plans, billions of USD are being earmarked for rail and metro projects for the first time. Today, there are more than USD 200 billion worth of rail and metro projects either planned for the coming 7 years or under way in the Middle East. An example of this is the GCC's first high-speed railway, the Haramain High Speed Rail project in Saudi Arabia that links Jeddah with Makkah, Madinah and Rabigh. The project is scheduled to open this year.
Alessio Bencivenni, Country Manager, Thales Egypt visited Westermo's stand and commented "We have worked extensively with Westermo's trackside solutions and we are convinced that the quality and rugged design of your products represent the right offering for this region". Due to the success of the event and the good lead generation, Easy World Technology has already reserved a stand at next year's Middle East Rail Exhibition in Dubai.

Reliable, resilient and robust mission critical network solutions are the foundation of modern industrial automation systems. Today, everything from critical business systems to transportation solutions are controlled and monitored through networks. Westermo is a market leader for solutions at the edge of these mission critical networks.
From 25th to 27 th of November the world’s leading companies within the industrial automation industry gathered at the SPS IPC Drives exhibition in Nuremberg, Germany. SPS IPC Drives is a key event in the industrial automation market. This year the event attracted 1600 exhibitors and 56000 visitors from all over the world. New products, innovations and trends within industrial automation technology were in focus.
During the exhibition Westermo promoted the Edge Networks Solutions concept and released several products developed for the edge of mission critical networks. Every second of the day vital data is collected at the edge of networks and transferred to the core of companies’ business systems. Decisions made at the core can then be communicated back to the edge of the network to control business assets. Environmental conditions are harsh at the network edge, making reliable, resilient and robust solutions vital.
Westermo´s presence at SPS IPC Drives and the introduction of the Edge Networks Solutions concept is a part of an ambitious three year growth plan, as a result of a 175 million investment announced earlier this year. With products and solutions developed for the edge of mission critical networks, Westermo is leading the way within the international industrial networking market.

Westermo have been developing networking products specifically for the rail industry for many years and offer complete data communications solutions for applications both on trains and at the trackside. Our real expertise is in developing products that can function in the harshest environments and meet the toughest approval specifications.
During InnoTrans we showed the market what we can offer in terms of quality and the robustness of our solutions. We also took the opportunity to introduce a number of new products, particularly suited to the rail industry; RFIR at the trackside, DDW-002-B1, RFR-212-FB and CASR application story.
Westermo products and solutions were effectively displayed on our stand and attracted many visitors who wanted to see and feel our products, as well as to meet our communication experts. During these intense four days more than 500 wellness smoothies and coffees where also served to interested customers on our stand.
InnoTrans was a very successful event for Westermo in many ways. For the first time Westermo had its own independent stand, that really boosted the company brand and profile at the exhibition. The stand was situated right in the middle of the fair, where all the train manufacturers, system integrators and competitors had their booths.
Westermo also raised its profile to the German market, which is one of the largest for train systems, passenger information systems and trackside solutions. The reception received at InnoTrans shows that Westermo is the market leader for robust data communication solutions for the rail industry with excellent products and high competence to deliver to the needs of our customers.
Westermo Teleindustri's distributor for the Middle East region, Easy World Technology, was host for a seminar titled "Delivering Edge Network Solutions". The event was held on August 27th, at Burj Al Arab, Dubai's 7 star hotel.
The customer event attracted representatives from multinational and local system
integrators, as well as end users from sectors including water management, electricity
distribution, transport and oil & gas.
